Barcelona to Host World's Largest Seafood Expo with More Than 2,000 Exhibitors

The 29th Global Seafood Expo (SEG) will be held at the Barcelona Convention and Exhibition Center in Spain from April 25th to 27th. This year, the number of exhibitors will exceed 2,000.

According to the organizer Diversified Communications, exhibitors at this year's exhibition come from 87 countries and regions around the world, of which 776 companies participated in the exhibition for the first time. The exhibition area reached 49,299 square meters, an increase of 21% over 2019 and an increase of 24% over 2022.

Liz Plizga, vice president of Diversified Communications, said: "This event provides the industry with a valuable platform to conduct business on a global scale and have a significant positive impact on the local economy."

The 2019 European Exhibition was held in Brussels, Belgium. At that time, the number of exhibitors reached 2,020. Later, the organizer announced that it would relocate to Barcelona. During the global epidemic, the European Exhibition was suspended for two years.

Plizga said: "The re-expansion of the expo reaffirms the need for face-to-face events in the seafood industry, and also confirms that the relocation to Barcelona and holding the exhibition in a modern venue is the right move, which provides more opportunities for growth."

In March this year, Diversified Communications held Seafood Expo North America (SENA) and Seafood Processing Expo North America in Boston, USA, attracting 1,141 exhibitors from 49 countries around the world, less than the 1,359 exhibitors in 2019.
