In the First 10 Months of 2022, China Will Import a Total of 690,000 Tons of Frozen Shrimp

According to customs data, China will import about 80,000 tons of frozen warm-water shrimp in October 2022, down from 87,000 tons in September, and the import volume has shown a downward trend for two consecutive months. Imports totaled about $524 million in October, down from $581 million in September.


In October, India's shrimp imports fell to 10,000 tons from 20,000 tons in September, with an import value of 68 million US dollars. Ecuadorian shrimp fell by 5,000 tons from 49,000 tons, with an import value of 310 million US dollars.





In October, the import unit price of Ecuadorian white shrimp dropped slightly from $6.33/kg to $6.31/kg, and the price of Indian shrimp fell from $6.95/kg to $6.91/kg.


In the first 10 months of this year, China imported a total of 691,000 tons of shrimp products, an increase of 49% over the same period last year, and the import value increased by 65% year-on-year to US$4.52 billion.
