In the first 11 months, the import volume of Ecuador shrimp has exceeded 500,000 tons, and the annua

According to the latest customs data, in the first 11 months of 2022, China has imported 776,996 tons of frozen shrimp, a year-on-year increase of 45%, and the import value exceeded US$5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 59%.


In November, China's shrimp imports reached 86,000 tons, an increase of 22% over the same period last year, and also exceeded the 80,000 tons in October; the import value in November reached 549 million US dollars, an increase of 20% year-on-year.


Among them, Ecuador's white shrimp imports reached 59,000 tons in November, an increase of about 10,000 tons over October; India's shrimp imports were about 7,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7%.


In November, the average import price of Ecuadorian white shrimp was $6.21/kg, down 3% year-on-year, and the average price of Indian shrimp was $6.34/kg, up 1% year-on-year.


The China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association (CAPPMA) predicts that shrimp imports will reach 800,000 tons in 2022 and about 610,000 tons in 2021.


From January to November, China has imported 502,000 tons of vannamei shrimp from Ecuador, a year-on-year increase of 50%; and imported 124,000 tons from India, a year-on-year increase of 19%.
